The Bombard Residence Project

When our clients in a stunning Tudor-style home in Chicago approached us looking to provide custom furniture that echoed their eye for design, we were thrilled to work with them. Let’s take a look at how their project unfolded into multiple custom pieces that pop throughout their home.

Vanity: A Symphony in Walnut

The process began with a screenshot of an inspiration piece. Envisioning a walnut vanity with fluted doors and drawers, we embarked on a collaborative design process to bring their ideas to life.

Working closely with our ACS designer and our clients who boasted their own design expertise, our furniture makers crafted a vanity that seamlessly blended form and function (and looked gorgeous doing it).

This vanity really commands the (bath)room with its breathtaking details and beautiful tones.

Window Bench: Where Utility Meets Aesthetics

For the primary bedroom, a complimentary design emerged with a walnut window bench mirroring the elegance of the vanity with traditional clean lines, fluted doors, and matching knobs. However, this isn’t just a bench. We are always looking for ways to demonstrate our expertise in solving unique problems with show-stopping solutions, and that’s why this bench also ingeniously conceals HVAC components in the bedroom.

Hallway Bench: Sycamore Steals The Show

Moving beyond the expected, the hallway welcomed a custom waterfall bench made from a single slab of sycamore, and completed with a custom steel leg.

Hallways can be an intimidating design space to work with, and we knew that one of our benches would be the perfect piece to hold its own under a Kader Boly painting.

Each piece of wood used at ACS is as distinct as our clients, and we love the way the delicate grain coupled with the striking asymmetry of this piece brings this hallway to life.

Dining Table: A Meeting Place to Last

We wrapped up our work with this live-edge walnut dining table and matching bench that became the focal point of the Bombard dining area.

Crafted from a bookmatched set of slabs cut consecutively from a walnut log, the table reflects our meticulous attention to detail.

Something every family loves about our dining pieces is that they are finished with a durable catalyzed varnish, designed to withstand the rigors of everyday life with children.
